Working approach: This is done by improving quality of care and changing behaviour through enhancing awareness, transferring knowledge, improving skills, upgrading facilities, mobilizing community participation and giving recommendations to policy makers.

What we have done

From 1995 up to now, CEPHAD had carried out a range of activities to support PLWHA, street and mobile children, who are high-risk group to be abused and trafficked, in health care, in accessing information and counseling ….

Gender and gender equity is one of the priorities in our program. The Gender issue is integrated in all activities of projects as a part of community-based development and poverty eradication. Women and children are one of prioritised target groups in our projects in Yen Bai, Kom Tum, Phu Tho, Hanoi, Thai Binh as they are vulnerable for all the forms of abuse, violence, exploitation and trafficking, which could be resulted in HIV/AIDS infection. (We had participated in International Consultation “Traffic in women: Women’s rights and reintegration” in the Netherlands (February, 2004)

Keeping and promoting the collaboration and co-operation with local stakeholders, authorities and community people is considered as strategy for our program sustainability. A long with our project implementation, we has been built-up and remained close relation with Women Union, Committee for Population-Family-Children, Steering Committee for AIDS and drug/prostitution prevention, etc.
